More to remind myself than anything

I was writing a thing and wanted to see if there was a real person who might fill a particular role. I needed someone who was alive in 1949, had an interest in the occult, military connections, and if possible Nazi sympathies. I was not supremely optimistic and didn’t want to go down the tired old Fleming/Crowley conspiracy theory. Imagine my surprise when approximately fifteen minutes of research turned up J. F. C. Fuller who was an early adopter of Thelema, influential military theorist, Major-General in the British Army, and absolute monster who devoted his later life to claiming the wrong side won the Second World War and that Hitler was the saviour of Western Europe. Cometh the hour, cometh the arsehole.
